WHAT IS AN INTENSIVE CE SERIES?
The Intensive CE Series is a blended learning model that combines weekly online CE course readings, weekly live webinar presentations, and an online forum for information exchange and networking with peers. Each series lasts 4 – 7 weeks, and is structured around live, interactive webinars with nationally known clinical experts on specific topic areas from the comfort of your home or office.
92% of participants agreed the overall teaching method/format was effective in their learning experience.
90% of participants agreed that the information delivered added to their knowledge and will cause them to change their professional practice.
The Intensive CE Series provides a "virtual classroom" environment for in-depth study of key topics.
DIABETES
Diabetes prevalence is rapidly increasing with 1,600,000 new cases of diabetes diagnosed every year. The healthcare challenges associated with this chronic disease necessitate competent, knowledgeable healthcare professionals who provide patients with the most current treatment strategies. The Diabetes Intensive CE Series gives healthcare providers the current knowledge about the diagnosis, pathology and treatment of diabetes mellitus.
This continuing education series in a blended learning format will highlight the types of diabetes, discuss monitoring blood sugar levels, explain techniques for promoting safe medication use, integrate nutritional and activity treatment approaches, describe management issues for special populations, and review the qualifications for certified diabetes educators (CDE). This six-week, self-paced, comprehensive series will also prepare eligible diabetes educators with the essential information to take the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) exam. Complete the online examination and earn 25.0 contact hours (nurses)/25.0 CPEUs (dietitians) and a certificate of completion.
ONLINE MODULE:
The series of online modules have been specifically chosen to provide healthcare providers with evidence-based information on diabetes management.
